Comment of the Year

"I really love my gamecube, though I probably won't find myself touching it again until that [Super] Paper Mario game. I will say this though; If you're impatient like me, and you don't already own one, I would definately suggest the buying of a used PS2 to hold you over until the Wii. It's nearing the end of it's days, most of the good games for it are already out, and you can make one hell of a killing with fifty dollars at your game store of choice. I know I walked out of Game Crazy with Katamari Damacy, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Final Fantasy X, and Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for just shy of fifty bucks, and the only title among those that I would consider to be anything less than classic would be Final Fantasy. As much as it pains me to admit this, there are only two Gamecube titles that I can think of that I've enjoyed more than Ratchet & Clank, those being Super Smash Bros. and Wind Waker. I'm still primarily a Nintendo fan, but I've enjoyed gaming a lot more since I've learned to put all this pointless fanboy shit behind me that to date has done nothing more than deprive me of some of the most entertaining game experiences since the 16-bit era. Disagree with his game choices-- along with his opinion of them (Maximo better than FFX?!)-- but goddamn did he nail that last part. Props to you, Anon.

My Thoughts Exactly

"The quote [in the link below] is funny because it typifies so much of what's wrong with "reporting" at E3. First, we've got to give credit to the anonymous blogger who at least recognized the need to remain calm and somewhat even-keeled: good job. You recognized that you were there to provide coverage and to keep a level head about you, even as the company on the stage did their best to inundate you with trickery designed to sweep you off your feet. For that, you deserve recognition.

It's unfortunate, however, that many members of the E3 "press" failed to quell their enthusiasm. I now recall in embarrassment the hoots and yells that routinely break out at E3 press conferences, particularly the Nintendo conference. Such ad-hoc outbursts of passion are appropriate at a pep rally, or at an Evangelical telethon, but they're completely out of place in a room that's supposedly full of members of the press (wouldn't be much of a press conference without press there, would it?).

Why do press allow themselves to get carried way past the point of no-return, past the junction of logic and reason, to the point that they've lost all rational ability to see the hype for what it is?"

And i'm the crazy one...

Can't Please Everyone

Y'know, i'm cool with haters on Inf, so long as they're funny, witty, or clever. None of these adjectives apply to a certain Inf reader, sadly. This person can't get over the fact that i caused some noise and dead air on the last podcast because of my unpreparedness and noisy mic that he won't stop attacking me. Jesus, is it that important to you?

He/she (and i do mean he/she) complains that i couldn't contribute 30 seconds of "content" and caused some idle time in thinking up an answer to a question. So, doesn't that mean he/she was eager to hear what i had to say? Talk about irony. The guy/gal has some sentimental issues, obviously.

Read our quabble here. Full with my sharp sarcasm and "its" lame insults.

AMN Points at Me

DS Advanced (part of the Advanced Media Network) has a review up of New Super Mario Bros. In it, Matt Green- also the webmaster for PressTheButtons-- has a section on the second page called "Game Boy Advance Need Not Apply", a 3 paragraph allusion to my "'New' Super Mario Bros?" article.

I find it funny how people keep trying to justify this game's intentions when its sole objective was fan service. The point isn't whether it could or couldn't run on a GBA, it's that Nintendo only made it to capitalize on the current DS rage with a nostalgic throwback. Reviewers are also saying it, it's not "new".

Listen, i'm not trying to shine a spotlight on myself. I've let the NSMB thing go; i really don't give a shit. (I never expected it to get the publicity it did in the first place.) But, apparently, the faithful haven't stopped coming at me and i thought it was worth pointing out. I just say this because i've been accused of having an ego over it. Seriously though, what other "outspoken people" could Matt be referring to?

However you may think, I don't care about internet recognition. Gimme a fuckin break, please. This is blogging, not film.
